Welcome to Divine Design British Shorthairs. We are previous Boston
residents and exhibitors in the North Atlantic Region, but have recently
moved to the Gulf Shore Region. We are a small cattery located in Austin
Texas. Our cattery is registered with both the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA)
and The International Cat Association (TICA). We bought our first British
Shorthair in 1980 and have never owned any other breed. Our love for these
wonderful and unique cats has only been rivaled by our love for Great Danes,
which have also been a part of the family since the early 1980’s.
The primary goal of our cattery is to breed British Shorthairs of exceptional
type, temperament and health. Many cat show judges have commented on
the quality of our cats’ lush, dense coats, rich eye color and sweet, open
expressions. The lineages of our cats come primarily from Great Britain and
New Zealand with a blend from select American catteries. We believe that the
Divine Design line has a very distinctive and unique look.
All of our kittens are raised underfoot in our home as part of the family. They
are constantly handled from their first day of life and are socialized in a loving
and nurturing environment. As a result our kittens have secure, well adjusted
and affectionate temperaments. Although we are actively involved in
showing, our main concern is in finding good, loving homes for these little
treasures. A British Shorthair that is kept indoors (one of our requirements),
loved, and properly cared for can live for 15 + years. We are therefore seeking
homes with owners who are serious about making such a commitment to one
of God’s most beautiful and fascinating creatures. It is also our philosophy
that when you purchase a Divine Design kitten to be part of your family, you
are not just purchasing a cat, but are gaining access to our long term support
for the life of your new companion. We are available for any questions that
you may have and would be delighted to provide you with information and
advice.
